Looking back at the May issue of BM Magazine
The VC furniture connectors from form32 were featured in the May issue of BM Magazine as part of the “Spotlights Holz-Handwerk 2026”. For us, this is a fitting opportunity to take a closer technical look at the connector system.
BM Magazine is one of the trade publications that reports closely on topics relevant to cabinetmakers, joiners and interior fit-out specialists. We are therefore pleased that the VC furniture connectors were presented there as a solution for professional furniture and cabinetmaking.
The focus is not only on a single connector, but on a system for typical connection situations in furniture construction: from butt corner connections and mitre joints through to centre panel connections.
One system for several connection situations
In furniture and cabinetmaking, many connection situations occur again and again. These include right-angled cabinet connections, mitre joints or centre panels that need to be integrated cleanly into a construction.
The VC system combines suitable connectors for these recurring connection situations. This supports planning, as connection points can be defined early and recurring constructions can be implemented in a consistent and traceable way.
Especially for furniture that needs to be transported, assembled or disassembled again if required, a detachable connection is an important advantage over permanently glued solutions.
For butt corners, mitres and centre panels
Different connection situations may be required depending on the furniture construction. The VC system covers three typical applications: butt corner connections, mitre connections and centre panel connections.
The variants differ not only in their position within the furniture, but also in their structural function:
- Butt corner connection: for classic cabinet connections and right-angled constructions
- Mitre connection: for clean angled joints with reduced visible connector technology
- Centre panel connection: for centre panels, intermediate panels or structural divisions within the cabinet

Technical key points of the VC furniture connectors
The VC furniture connectors are designed for panel thicknesses of approx. 16 to 32 mm. The connectors are made of zinc-plated steel and provide a tightening travel of approx. 3.5 mm.
Three properties are particularly relevant for furniture construction: the connection remains detachable, is vibration-resistant and does not create lateral offset.
The visible drill hole remains comparatively small at approx. 6 mm. This is particularly important when the connection needs to be technically reliable while remaining visually discreet.
What matters when selecting the right connector
The right VC variant is first determined by the connection situation: Is a butt corner to be joined, a mitre connection to be created or a centre panel to be integrated?
Panel thickness, the desired visibility of the connection and the later assembly process also play an important role. Especially with detachable furniture, built-ins or recurring cabinet solutions, the connection should be considered early in the construction phase.
If several connection situations occur within one project, it is worth looking at the system as a whole. This allows suitable connectors to be combined in a targeted way, while processing remains consistent across different constructions.
